The County of Augusta is accepting applications for the position of part-time Facilities Attendant for the Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center located in Lyndhurst, Virginia. This is a public shelter owned by Augusta County and the Cities of Staunton and Waynesboro.

This position’s responsibilities include, but not limited to upholding the mission of the shelter; ensuring the facility is clean, safe and well organized; following approved shelter policies and procedures; ensuring compliance with state and local regulations; and providing professionalism when working with staff, animal control officers, volunteers, advocacy groups, rescues and the public. This position will assist with animal transport to and from scheduled appointments as needed. Work performed under the supervision of the Operations Manager.

The preferred candidate will have graduated from high school with experience in janitorial and/or facility maintenance work is preferred.

This position is a part-time position with an hourly wage of $13.00 with no County benefits. This position will work 28 hours a week including some weekends.
