The County of Augusta is accepting applications for the position of Communications Manager. The Communications Manager serves in the County Administrator’s Office assisting with public information, media, community relations programs, and advanced administrative work that requires considerable independent judgment. Applicants should have a thorough knowledge of public information and modern principals and practices of public relations media. The Communications Manager will work with various boards, citizens, committees, and County employees.
The preferred candidate will have any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a major course work in public relations, communications, journalism, public administration, or a related field. The starting salary is $60,445; salary is negotiable depending upon qualifications. Benefits include VRS retirement, group life insurance, health insurance, other voluntary benefits and PTO leave.
