Recycling Mini-grants for Schools

The Augusta County Recycling Committee encourages youth initiatives and is willing to provide funds to Augusta County public schools to support recycling efforts through student focused activities and events. County funds are being used to establish the grants (up to $500 maximum) and multiple grants may be awarded.

Recycling Mini-Grant Applications are due by September 1 and are typically awarded in December.

To be considered, a public school must propose a project or effort that supports recycling or is an enhancement to an existing program, or provides student education opportunities.  Funds are intended to support paper, cardboard, aluminum cans, soup cans and/or glass recycling.

Examples of grant-appropriate projects might be: recycling event or day for showcasing student recycling projects, purchase of educational materials, recycling club or environmental club activates or events, field trip to the landfill or recycling centers, volunteering at the landfill or convenience site (great for clubs & service points), and student projects related to recycling or recycling education.
