The emergency animal shelter will be closed to the general public over the long holiday weekend.  Normal hours will resume on Tuesday, June 20. 

Next week, we would appreciate any dog walkers who might be available between 3pm - 4pm. We ask that you let the animals rest between noon and 3pm. Please schedule a time by calling 540-430-6454.

Thank you community for the donations and volunteering to help at the emergency animal shelter that was deployed on June 2, 2023!  The outpouring has been tremendous!  

At this point in time, we have plenty of blankets and bedding materials.  We continue to need dog food, Dawn dish detergent, scrub brushes, paper towels, latex gloves, etc.  We will take any item donated.  Donations may be dropped off at the Government Center Monday – Friday, 8 am until 5 pm or the Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center during normal operating hours. 

The Emergency Shelter will be closed to the public on Saturdays and Sundays.  If the community would like to volunteer, we ask that you call ahead and schedule a time to come by. Please call 540-430-6454.  You can also volunteer at the Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center in Lyndhurst, please email svasc@co.augusta.va.us.
