The Augusta County Board of Supervisors will conduct a Public Hearing during the regular meeting at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2024, in the Board Meeting Room, Augusta County Government Center, 18 Government Center Lane, Verona, Virginia to consider the following:

An ordinance amendment of Chapter 22-8 of the Augusta County Code to extend the dates for Board of Equalization hearings and receipt of applications by three months to meet the 2024 reassessment timeline.

The proposed execution and issuance by the County of a Local Lease Acquisition Agreement and Financing Lease, and related leasehold instruments (collectively, the “Lease”), under which the Virginia Resources Authority (“VRA”) will provide financing to the County, at one time or from time to time, in the aggregate maximum principal amount not to exceed $80,000,000, and the County will be obligated, subject to appropriation, to make rental payments in amounts sufficient to repay the principal and pay the interest thereon. Proceeds of the Lease will be used for the purpose of financing certain capital improvements for the County; to wit, a new courthouse and related public safety improvements to be located at 100 Dick Huff Lane, Verona, Virginia 24482 (the “Project”), all of which will be leased by the County pursuant to the Lease, and to pay costs of issuance of the Lease.
