The Augusta County Planning Office strives to promote the health, safety, vitality, and general welfare of Augusta County residents through responsible decisions associated with land use planning and policy. Staff seeks to carry out this mission on a daily basis through reviewing and preparing staff reports on potential rezonings, rezoning applications, and Comprehensive Plan amendments.  It is also responsible for coordinating the review and update of the County’s Comprehensive Plan, drafting Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance amendments as needed, and writing and administering grants. 

Planning Office staff also serves as support to the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors for all land use and development matters, enabling them to make responsible decisions that improve quality of life and promote equity in the stewardship of Augusta County’s most valuable resource.
