The Augusta County Sheriff’s Office has several smaller units that are classified as specialized units. Several of these units incorporate officers working in full time capacities such as the Canine Unit, Warrant Service Unit, and School Resource Officers, while other units are composite units that draw on the manpower of the entire department. These composite units are part-time all volunteer units such as our Firearms Unit and our SWAT Team.
